This concert shines a spotlight on the brilliance of women composers, both past and present. Rediscover the works of Clara Schumann, a pioneer of the Romantic era, and the captivating melodies of Fanny Mendelssohn, the overshadowed sister of Felix, but arguably the better composer and musician. Journey through the 20th and 21st centuries with the evocative compositions of Libby Larsen, the lush Romanticism of Amy Beach, and the captivating music of Duluth’s own, Wendy Durrwachter. Prepare to be inspired by these talented women who defied limitations and left their mark on the world of classical music.
