Handel’s Sweet Bird, and Bach’s Sonata No. 4

Join us at the beautiful Pilgrim Congregational Church in Duluth on February 18 at 3 pm as the Borealis Chamber Artists present a concert highlighting George Frideric Handel's Sweet Bird and Johann Sebastian Bach's Sonata No. 4. In this performance, accomplished soloists explore the stylistic nuances of these compositions.

The concert opens with Handel's "Sweet Bird," featuring soprano soloist Tasha Kapp, with Brian Kapp on keyboard and Melanie Sever on flute. Transitioning to Bach's Sonata No. 4, the spotlight shifts to Erin Aldridge on the violin, with Patrick Russell on harpsichord. The deliberate juxtaposition of Handel's vocal and instrumental textures with Bach's sonata fosters a dialogue, cultivating an appreciation for the distinctive elements of the Baroque musical tradition.
